It is with great pleasure I can inform you that Syler Robert is officially part of our family, and was born at 8:40pm (so much for 3 o'clock). Farrah pushed harder then a drug dealer in Amsterdam, but it was too no avail. After 2 hours of intensive breathing and pushing the Dr. decided that it was best for her to have a C-section. She was very strong throughout, both in the regular labor and the C-section. Sy came out like a champ.... Lou Holtz even stopped by and tried to sign him for the fall of 2026 but Farrah and I decided to hold out for a better offer.
Although, Sy has had some trouble with his breathing and is currently in a special unit for testing and observations. In talking with the doctors, it is my hope that the situation can be resolved with time and antibiotics. According to the Dr. he has an air bobble between his lungs and the tissue that covers them. He is breathing rapidly in an attempt to naturally push the air bubble out of his system. To be honest I have no idea what any of this means except for the fact that Sy must stay downstairs tonight and be observed. I hope that this "bubble" goes away and I can start my boy on some plyometrics tomorrow.
He was born 8 pounds 12 ounces, (like Farrah was going to get that out of her Ver Jay Jay) and is 22inches long. I think we finally found great grandpa Laiten height gene that I have been looking for all these years.
Thanks again for all the prays, text, email, and time that all of you have given to us. I will keep you posted throughout the day tomorrow. I am also sure that Farrah will even get on here and share some of your thoughts.
